Rui Lopes has a degree in History, major in Archeology, from Universidade de Évora. Senior technician in the area of Arqueology in the Municipality of Chaves, since 2004, he has been producing and participating in diverse archeological interventions in the county of Chaves, in the ambit of safeguarding the archaeological heritage, specially the excavation of the Roman village of Granjinha and the Roman medicinal thermal baths of Chaves.

In the last years he has developed scientific studies in the area of archaeological treasure, in particular the Roman ceramics.
